Publication Submission

Publication Interest

The Center invites and considers for publication all science or technical papers, reports, articles that are properly formatted and suitable for scientific peer review. Technical Papers and the Flooring Sciences E-Journal are not intended to be used as an advertising forum or marketing platform for products and services.

The peer reviewed content of the Center and E-Journal will address a full range of science and technical topics related to design, construction, production, distribution, use, maintenance, reclamation, and disposal of flooring products. Subject areas will include flooring and fiber chemistry, ergonomics and beneficial use, human response in various environments, cleaning science, indoor environmental quality, mathematical models, toxicology, risk and health related studies, life cycle analysis, and design for environmental research. Center publications and the E-Journal will emphasize science based benefits as well as address environmental, health, and other technical issues.

Submission Guidelines

Primary authors will submit documents for consideration to the Center and E-Journal via the "Contact Us" form on this website. The document must not exceed 20 pages and must be submitted in an MS Word format. The editor and staff will initially evaluate the general suitability of the document based upon its subject matter and the scientific or technical content related to some aspect of carpet. The Center will then forward the submission to qualified reviewers for comments.

Each submission must include a document title, author/s and their affiliation/s, abstract not to exceed 300 words, and a list of key words. The purpose, methods, results and conclusions of the work must be clearly stated and properly referenced.

The Center will consider previously published or presented materials, but the authors must clearly indicate the publication and presentation history of the material. Authors must have the legal publication rights or permissions for all content materials in their submissions.
